Blogging is so 2005

Lately I have been using Newsvine to keep track of the news, and to keep track of links. Obviates the need for a blog, so I doubt I'll be posting here again.

Join me in The Future here: (Email me for an invite if you're not already registered.)

I'm still using Bloglines religiously as well (Bloglines is so 2005). My blogroll is in the "links" section of right-hand navigation bar :)

Do Burned CDs Have a Short Life Span? - Yahoo! News

This an ugly thought. Gerecke says burned CDs have a lifespan of up to 5 years.

I'm sure this guy is a consultant trying to sell a service. But it's not the first time I've heard that burned CDs aren't for the ages...

Sony BMG's Costly Silence

Business Week has an article that sums up the Sony Rootkit story so far.

Seems that they knew way ahead of the story breaking that the CDs could open up your PC to hackers.

What will happen to Deborah Davis?

This may be the test case that determines whether or not you can be arbitrarily asked to show ID by the police. They do this kind of thing all the time anyway, so it will certainly be much worse if Davis loses her case.

This is a case of someone who was not under suspicion of a crime, she was simply riding public transportation to work. She spent several hours in jail and was issued two tickets.
